Complete Puppy & Kitten Care

Everyone knows how important vaccinations, flea control, and parasite prevention are to the well being of our pets. Often overlooked, however, is the important role spaying and neutering play in maintaining good health.

Shiloh Veterinary Hospital strives to make high-quality pet care affordable and available to our clients.

Puppy and kitten care begins at 6-8 weeks of age and continues through 4-6 months of age when pets are able to be spayed and neutered. Boosters vaccinations are administered every 3 weeks, and deworming is done twice. Heartworm and Flea/Tick prevention are introduced, and behavior issues are addressed. Our staff will educate first time owners on how to create a quality relationship with a new family member.

Adult Wellness Program:

Our annual Adult Wellness Program is tailored to meet the needs of pets between the ages of 1-6.

During your wellness visit, your veterinarian will perform a full head to tail physical exam and also address any concerns you may have about your pet’s current health status. We will also perform a complete parasite check, including sending a stool sample to the laboratory for an intestinal parasite check, and a blood sample to test for lyme/heartworm disease. We tailor a vaccination program to your pet’s individual lifestyle. We prescribe necessary parasite protection such as heartworm, flea, and tick protection. We make recommendations regarding home health care of your pet’s teeth and any necessary dental cleanings which can be scheduled right here in our office at the end of your visit. Additionally, we offer nutritional and behavioral counseling to our clients. We perform optional blood tests for many of our adult pets to monitor baseline values, offer peace of mind, and detect problems early as part of our effort to exercise preventative medical care. You will receive a full report card at the end of the visit detailing the findings of the exam, and it will include any recommendations made by your veterinarian. Our goal is to ensure that you and your pet get to live long and healthy lives together.

Senior Wellness Program:

Our Senior Wellness Program includes a visit with our veterinarian every six months (which is like your going to the doctor every 3.5 years) and is tailored to meet the needs of our pets 7 years and older. During the wellness visit, your veterinarian will perform a complete physical exam, including an oral exam, on your pet. Depending on your pet’s needs, we will measure blood pressure and screen for Glaucoma. We will also perform a complete parasite check including testing for intestinal parasites and heartworm disease and tailor a vaccination program to your pet’s individual lifestyle. We prescribe necessary parasite protection such as strategic intestinal parasite deworming and heartworm, flea and tick prevention. We make recommendations regarding home health care of your pet’s teeth and any necessary dental cleanings which can be scheduled right here in our office. We also offer to our senior patients baseline blood work which is performed to help monitor baseline values, monitor chronic medical conditions, and detect onset of disease early, when treatment and prevention are most effective. You will receive a detailed report card at then end of your visit detailing the findings of the exam, and it will include any recommendations made by your veterinarian. Our goal is for you and your pet to fully enjoy every day of your life together for as long as possible.
